Tekserve’s at it again. The electronic repair store (a savior to me many-o-times) along with the Lower East Side Ecology Center are moonlight in electronic recycling. Go green by safely and properly recycle your old electronics at their eWaste Recycling Drive. Bring computers, monitors, fax machines, copiers, CD/DVD/VCR players, stereo equipment, televisions, cell phones, cameras and other unwanted electronics to Tekserve on Saturday, July 10th from 10am to 4pm to be safely recycled.

Expect sunshine and rainbows!! The annual parade began in 1970 as a political stance to the Stonewall Riots and remains just as relevant today with gay marriage, the repeal of ‘Don’t ask, Don’t tell’ and debates over LGBT rights finally holding political power.  The march of extravagance makes its way down 5th Ave beginning at 34th street at 12pm and commences at the corner of Greenwich and Christopher Sts. Equality for all!!!

Last night the Board of Directors of Saint Vincent's Catholic Medical Center (SVCMC) voted to close their hospital inpatient operations. This saddens many whom have been fighting diligently to keep emergency and vital health care services on the west side on Manhattan. There will be a rally today, Wednesday, April 07, at 11 a.m. outside of St. Vincent’s at 12th Street and 7th Avenue to urge the State not to approve any St. Vincent’s closure plan until there is an appropriate urgent healthcare option for the West Side. We urge you to attend.

Yesterday, the United States Census Bureau mailed the Census questionnaire to households throughout the nation. Based on the results of the Census, the federal government distributes $400 billion in aid among the states – a significant portion of which may benefit New York City.
