I hope you will all join me this Saturday June 4th at 12pm outside Tea and Sympathy (110 Greenwich Avenue between Jane and Horatio Streets) for a petition drive. We will meet and go to various locations throughout the community to get petitions to support Attorney General Schneiderman in denying the Rudin plan until it includes a real hospital.

On Friday, June 3 beginning at 11:00 a.m. officials of the Uniformed Firefighters Association (UFA), Uniformed Fire Officers Association (UFOA), New York City Firefighters, community leaders and elected officials will march across the Brooklyn Bridge to protest Mayor Bloomberg's plan to close 20 fire companies.

Our children didn't create this financial crisis.  Why should they pay to fix it? Join thousands to demand action from Bloomberg.  Make big banks and millionares pay.  Today at 4PM be one of the ones who won't take it anymore and assemble with us at City Hall to protest budget cuts.

Tonight at 6:30 pm, join Manhattan Youth and special guest Dr. Marjorie Snyder of the Women's Sports Foundation in a discussion of why urban girls participate in sports at half the rate of urban boys, and what we can do about it in our community. We will share experiences, address challenges, and discuss strategies for creating or improving sports programming to attract and retain more girls.


In honor of International Women's History Month, NYC's City Winery is hosting a month-long party to celebrate the women who inspire us everyday! The winery is featuring women wine makers from around the world, as well as several evenings of special performances.

A grassroots group of parents has reserved space on city hall steps this Thursday at 1 PM to protest proposed budget cuts on behalf of our kids!
