Featured Artist: Eric Diehl
Born in Lancaster County, PA in1984, Eric received his BFA with highest honors at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. During his four years at Pratt he received the top foundation award as well as sophomore and junior year painting scholarships.
Upon graduating in 2007, Eric moved to the Adirondack Mountains to work on a painting residency at Camp Echo Lake. Later that year he moved his studio to Pawleys Island, SC, to paint a series of beach- house portraits titled “Private Property” as well as to create a series of enamel paintings with actual McDonalds food titled “dollar menu series”. In 2008, he won an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant right after he returned from a 1600-mile bike trip along the West Coast. Eric moved back to Brooklyn and currently holds a studio in the neighborhood of Bushwick. His paintings and illustrations are in many private collections in NJ, NY, PA, SC, VA, VT, and IL, as well as being featured on NBC’s show “30 Rock.”
The artist currently lives, works, and rides his bike around Brooklyn.
