Since money makes the world go round, Mr. Bloomberg has been re-elected. His $90 million certainly made the difference, but not enough to give him any kind of “mandate” (though listening to him, he has one of those as well). The incredible slimness of Bloomberg’s (AKA “Bloom- bucks”) victory has been noted by those journalists who still write a few lines not favorable to our well heeled mayor.

Due to the possibly illegal City Council vote last October to repeal term limits, Plunkitt is disgusted with the following individuals (who all represent us locally): Billionaire Mayor Michael Bloomberg; Bloomberg’s “Mini Me” Council Speaker Christine Quinn; Council member Alan Gerson (who even went so far to say he “had no choice” but to vote for it - puleeze!); Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer (who strangely supported it even though he can already

 Andrea Schiavoni and Sally Pope.

By means of shrewd lies, unremittingly repeated, it is possible to make people believe that heaven is hell — and hell heaven. The greater the lie, the more readily it will be believed.

The push for development buy this mayor has led to the death of quite a few people this year alone. His development mania has also wasted precious government time and resources: just look at the failed 2012 Olympic bid and failed congestion-pricing plan (Bloomberg sent state legislators glossy brochures to convince them).

Lower Manhattan’s political scene is heating up in anticipation of filling spots for term limited (along with other limitations) City Council members. In 2009, along with Mayor, Public Advocate, and Comptroller, there will be openings for our local City Council seats (now held by Christine Quinn and Alan J. Gerson).
